Applejack's Ranch Hybrid Learning Collaborative

Applejack’s Ranch is proud to offer the Hybrid Learning Collaborative, a flexible, trauma-informed micro-school designed for youth under 21 who need a different path to success. Many of the young people we serve have had challenging or disruptive experiences within traditional school environments. Some are in transition, rebuilding stability, or navigating circumstances that make a typical classroom feel overwhelming or inaccessible. The Hybrid Learning Collaborative gives them a supportive, flexible alternative.

In partnership with our education partner, Global Education, we’re able to provide a personalized blend of online learning and in-person support. Each student receives a laptop, and access to consistent academic guidance through our Cottonwood Drop-In Center, where they can study, get tutoring, connect with supportive adults, and feel safe. This hybrid model allows youth to move at a pace that matches their capacity and life circumstances, while still staying connected to a community that truly understands their needs.

The program offers multiple pathways to meaningful progress: high school diplomas, high school credit recovery, and a range of skill-based certifications developed in collaboration with Arizona State University (ASU). Whether a young person is catching up, finishing strong, or exploring new opportunities for their future, the Hybrid Learning Collaborative helps them move forward with flexibility, encouragement, and choice.

Opened in early 2025, our Cottonwood Drop-In Center provides a safe, comfortable place for youth to learn, recharge, and connect. The space includes a dedicated craft room, cozy sofas and bean bag chairs, quiet study areas with tables and laptops, and a small lunch space for breaks and nourishment. Youth also have access to our trained mentors, who are available for support, guidance, or simply a friendly presence. Whether a young person needs help with schoolwork, a peaceful spot to focus, or a welcoming place to belong, the Cottonwood Drop-In Center is here for them.
